Lamp Making Workshop - $240 + tax
MONDAYS 6:00PM-9:00PM, AUGUST 10-31
This is an Intermediate level throwing workshop in four sessions. Students will throw two different lamp bases, glaze them, and assemble them with lamp kits.
NOTE: do not purchase any lamp kits until after the first class discussion about the right kind of kit.
PRE-REGISTER (current students and members only)
Workshop Schedule:
Session 1 - August 10
- Discuss lamp kit accessories to purchase and the right kind of kit.
- Throw and assemble first lamp base
- Plan for a second lamp base for next week
Session 2 - August 17
- Throw and assemble a second lamp in 2 parts.
- Get the first lamp ready for bisque.
Session 3 - August 24
- Glaze the first lamp.
- Demo of the assembly of the lamp parts with kit.
Session 4 - August 31
- Glaze the second lamp
- Students assembe lamps. Q&A.
This workshop includes open studio access through September 3.
Building Vases with Tar Paper - $240 + tax
FRIDAYS 10:00AM-2:00PM, AUGUST 14- AUGUST 28
This is an Intermediate level hand-building workshop with three sessions of instruction time; each session is four hours long. Students will design and make tar paper templates, then roll out slabs and assemble two different vases.

Workshop Schedule:
Session 1 -August 14
- Description and demonstration of the process, sharing of images of example using this method.
- Students will design and make tar paper cutouts.
- Roll slabs and assemble parts to build the vase.
Session 2 - August 21
- *Design and build a second vase.
- *Finish the first and get ready for bisque fire.
Session 3 - August 28
- Glaze first vase.
- Finish the second and get ready for bisque fire.
Glazing - Students will come to the studio at their convenience during business hours the week of August 31 to glaze their second vases.
This workshop includes open studio access through September 3.
